Mario Kart Wii is the world's biggest selling video game of 2008, according to a global industry retail report.
The list of top selling games, which was compiled by Top Global Markets, is based on figures released by The NPD Group, GfK Chart-Track Limited and Enterbrain.
Mario Kart tops the list with 8.94 million copies sold, with US sales accounting for 5 million, Japanese sales at 2 million and UK sales at 1.94 million.
Wii Fit was the year's second biggest seller, with 8.31 million copies sold, while Grand Theft Auto IV was third with 7.29 million sales, despite only shifting 256,000 copies in Japan.
